A Little Step
MX Respin ME is a computer operating system developed personally, based on the MX Linux operating system. MX Respin ME comes with Xfce, a stable, lightweight, and configurable desktop environment. The development of MX Respin ME stemmed from our playful experiment with one of the tools in MX Linux, MX Snapshot, a tool used for backing up the operating system as an ISO installer. Then, we thought, "What if we share this ISO with the public? Maybe someone would like to try it or might need it?" On the other hand, we also hope that MX Respin ME can become an option for those who need a free and legal computer operating system.
This computer operating system is also suitable for those who want to maximize the use of their desktops, laptops, and netbooks, offering a modern look and enough features for daily use.
Name and Icon
Initially, we named this operating system 'AI Project OS,' but we thought that was too much, so we went back to basics and named it MX Linux ME. After communicating with the lead developer of MX Linux, the operating system's name was changed again to what it is now, MX Respin ME, which means an operating system developed from MX Linux.
The MX Respin ME icon is inspired by three mountains in our area, known as the 3S (Mount Slamet, Sumbing, and Sindoro) among hikers. It also depicts a bird spreading its wings to fly. The mountains symbolize sturdiness, as we - Inshaa Allah - are steadfast in encouraging people to use creative works legally. The bird represents freedom, as people should be free to choose the creative works they use to meet their needs while respecting the applicable boundaries.
